Chicago Genealogical Society Announces Spring Seminar with Author, Lecturer and “Hoosier Daddy?” Blogger Michael D. Lacopo, DVM.
The Chicago Genealogical Society is excited to announce our upcoming 2016 Spring Genealogy Seminar with Author, Lecturer and “Hoosier Daddy?” Blogger Michael D. Lacopo, DVM at the Arlington Heights Memorial Library on Saturday, April 2, 2016.
Dr. Michael D. Lacopo is retired small-animal veterinarian born and raised in northern Indiana. He takes a scientific approach to his research as he does to his profession. Researching since 1980, he has lectured internationally and written for numerous periodicals and journals. A self-described “all-American mutt,” his research skills cover a broad range.
His first major challenge in the world of research was tackled by finding his adopted mother’s birthparents in 1982. You can read about this adventure at his blog at Roots4U.blogspot.com (start at the beginning) with some engaging story-telling, plot twists and new findings!
The all-day seminar will offer four presentations:
- More Than the Census: Our Families Did Exist Within Those Ten-Year Intervals!
- Incorporating Social History Into Your Research
- Methods for Identifying the German Origins of American Immigrants
- Medical Genealogy: A Primer of Diseases That Killed Our Ancestors and the Epidemics They Lived Through
Register online or mail in the registration form to reserve your seat for this great seminar. We are excited about Michael visiting the Chicago Genealogical Society. Let’s welcome him to the Windy City!
Hope you can join us on April 2nd for this great genealogy day!
